In the heart of Old Istanbul, next to Hagia Sophia and a few steps from Topkapı Palace, Deraliye Restaurant offers a selection of dishes that used to be served at the court of the Ottoman Empire. A dedicated family of chefs. They’ve been creating delicious food for over 35 years. It was a honor to be part of this experience. I invite you to embark on their historical voyage and experience the exclusive delight of a menu fit for a Sultan.
Treat Yourself as Sultan.
During my trip to Istanbul, we were invited by Alemdar Mah Ticarethane SK. He is the manager of this fabulous restaurant. The Deraliye Restaurant. A very nice person, and very famous in Turkey. This star chef has a clear vision of what to do in the future. He wants to build his chain of restaurants throughout the Turkish metropolis. I wish him success, to be honest I am a fan of oriental cuisine. This mixture of sweet / salty. After our cooking class I was in the kitchen with the friends we could discover and realize typical things of Turkey. As for example the Balli Gemici Böregi a sort of tartlet stuffed with Turkish cheese and peas. This is the traditional Turkish dish that was served to the Sultan. We add a hint of honey. It’s really amazing and pretty easy to make. trust me! We also have the Ayva Dolmasi this plate dates from 1539 at the time of Sultan Suleyman with his quince stuffed with minced lamb and veal, rice, almonds, pine nuts and currants, served with a grap molasses dressing. It’s succulent. During the session we enjoyed several Turkish flavors such as Sea Bass, Kaz Kebabi, Nirbach.
